Gonna be wipin' your weepin eyes

Yesterday the soul music world lost one of it's souls. Wilson Pickett died of a heart attack yesterday in Virginia at the age of 64.

Pickett came into this world in Prattville, Alabama in 1941. But he was truly born into the world of soul in 1966 when he came to FAME studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. From within the walls of FAME Pickett recorded "634-5789", "Mustang Sally", and "Land of 1000 Dances" among others.

My favorite Alabama Music Hall-of-Famer has got to be Jim Nabors.
